A comprehensive service providing a network of autonomous drone nests connected via 5G, ensuring their maintenance, flight permit management, compliance with all safety regulations, and flight operation. This is where Telefónica Open Gateway’s Dynamic Airspace Connectivity Data, Population Density Data and Quality on Demand APIs come into play, enabling flight planning, drone location confirmation, and connectivity optimisation.
Goals
The deployment of drone fleets requires a robust connectivity infrastructure, compliance with various regulations, and the use of advanced technologies for safe and efficient flight planning and execution. Open Gateway 5G Drones offers companies a network of autonomous drones connected via 5G, controlled and monitored at all times by Telefónica’s remote control centre. Additionally, thanks to the integration of our APIs we simplify drone operations, providing greater agility and security, eliminating complexities and management processes for the customer.
Results
The Dynamic Airspace Connectivity Data API provides insight into the level of connectivity along the drone’s route, ensuring a stable connection throughout the flight. For its part, the Population Density Data API provides information on the population density in an area, helping to avoid areas with large concentrations of people in urban environments.
Finally, the Quality on Demand API allows us to optimise the connection to the device, ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted experience. This integrated approach provides a safer and more connected drone ecosystem, redefining the way customers benefit from flight operations.
