Optimizing INFRA S.A.’s logistics with Smart Steps

Mobility Insights

INFRA S.A. faced the challenge of optimizing intercity transportation in Brazil, especially for people and goods. By implementing Smart Steps and mobile data analysis, INFRA sought to improve transportation planning, increase sustainability, and reduce costs. This project, which is aligned with the National Logistics Plan 2035 (PNL 2035), improved the accuracy of route planning and reduced emissions and transport times through the integration of Big Data and the use of real-time data.

Goals

INFRA S.A.’s main purpose was to improve the efficiency of intercity transportation in Brazil, using Smart Steps and Big Data to optimize route planning and the use of railway infrastructure. In doing so, it sought to reduce transportation costs, improve road safety, and promote more sustainable transportation. The project also aimed to contribute to the country’s economic growth by improving the logistics infrastructure and the accessibility of the transport system.

Results

The implementation of Smart Steps enabled INFRA to reduce intercity transportation costs by between 17% and 39%. It also achieved a 9% improvement in road safety and a 14% reduction in CO2 emissions. Thanks to the use of Big Data, INFRA optimized route planning, improving efficiency and reducing average transport time. The project also contributed to an increase in Brazilian GDP of between 6% and 11%.
