Quantum computing will change different areas of our society (medicine, information security, communications and so on), but it will also pose numerous challenges; the first quantum computers will be able to break the encryption standards with which we currently secure our network. This is why we’re developing it to adapt it to this new state of affairs. The current store-now-decrypt-later threat means that any company with long-standing sensitive data runs the risk of having them captured now and decrypted later. Within this context, Telefónica is presenting Quantum-Safe Networks, a solution that helps companies to protect their communications and critical data.

Goals
We provide post-quantum secure networks to protect communications and data even more securely, both now and in the future.
An easy-to-integrate solution to help companies to protect their sensitive information.
Quantum-Safe Networks combines classical cryptography with the post-quantum kind while adding an extra layer of protection.
Results
We’re making our networks quantum-safe, protecting communications and data wherever they may be:
- In the network we’re increasing security during the transmission of sensitive data via private 5G networks, offering high protection and low latency.
- In services, we’re integrating post-quantum encryption to add an extra layer of security to IoT communications.
- In utilities, we’re reinforcing the protection of the eSIMs of smart devices to enhance the security of sensitive data and essential services for the population.
