Session description
Telefónica, with its network capabilities (5G and fiber) and nearby Cloud computing, enables end-to-end retransmission of audiovisual signals up to 4K. It will convey images from 360º cameras placed in different parts of the Civitas Metropolitano, to devices such as VR glasses, tablets or a laptop, for the supporters which are in the Telefónica Empresas VIP Room of the Civitas Metropolitano, where indoor ad-hoc 5G NSA connectivity has been deployed.
The complexity of the project stems fundamentally from the need to broadcast in strict real time, with no latency, because the fans are in the stadium and what they see and hear has to match what they see and hear on their devices. (Glasses, Tablets, PC etc).
The great work done with the Atletico Madrid team is reflected in the quantity and quality of the content generated for the demonstrator, as well as the magnificent placement of the cameras to give the fan that differential capacity for immersion that makes the fan feel very close to the players or next to the coach.
Demo description
After the presentation of the use case, the demonstration that was generated during the execution of the pilot is shown using both the VR goggles and the tablet. It is a faithful replica of the demonstrator with the limitation that the content is pre-recorded as no games are being played at the time.
Participants will be able to see the demonstrator on the Ágora screens and enjoy it as if they were watching the match in the Civitas Metropolitano.
