Telefónica Tech has been recognised as a “Leader” in the IDC MarketScape analysis of managed security services (MSS) providers in Europe. This is a report, “IDC MarketScape: European Managed Security Services 2022 Vendor Assessment (doc #EUR146178820, January 2022)”, where companies in the managed security market are evaluated for their ability to meet the evolving needs of MSS customers over the short and long term.
Hugo de los Santos, director of cloud and cybersecurity products and services at Telefónica Tech, said: “We are very proud of this recognition because we believe it reflects, on the one hand, our continued commitment to the strategic development of managed security services and, on the other hand, the trust our customers place in us to protect their businesses and enable them to execute their digital transformation plans at a rapid pace.
“Adopting cloud services and remote work practices has added new layers of complexity for IT security practitioners to address,” said Joel Stradling, research director, IDC European Security and Privacy. “This combination, in addition to the growing sophistication of the cyberthreats companies face, is driving strong demand for MSS in Europe.”
Telefónica Tech continued its organic and inorganic growth strategy in 2021. It made an acquisition in the security field (Cancom UK&I – now Telefónica Tech UK&I-) and continued to enhance its cybersecurity capabilities with Tu Empresa Segura, a pioneering service for SMEs, and NextDefense, a next-generation cybersecurity service designed to provide large enterprises with a modern, effective and intelligent detection and response capability against cyber-attacks.
Telefónica Tech has a broad portfolio of solutions to help companies securely address the hybrid way of working. Highlights include its software-defined secure access (SDSA) offering developed with Fortinet and the global flexWAN by Fortinet service, which combines the capabilities of Fortinet Secure SD-WAN with Telefónica Tech’s managed security and cloud services.
