Telefónica, the only Spanish company on Forbes’ ‘Blockchain 50’ list

Madrid,  February 3,2021.- Telefónica has been included this year in the Blockchain 50 list of Forbes magazine, which highlights, as the publication explains, companies that lead in employing distributed ledger technology and have revenue or a valuation of at least $1 billion.

Telefónica is the only Spanish representative on the list and its incorporation also coincides with the first year of the launch of Telefónica Tech, Telefónica’s strategic business unit created in November 2019 that encompasses digital services with high growth potential linked to Cybersecurity, IoT&Big Data (from where Blockchain solutions are offered) and Cloud.

In this third edition of Forbes’ Blockchain 50 list there are 21 newcomers and half of the companies are Americans (25), compared to a quarter of Europeans (13), six Chinese and the remaining ones spread across other geographies around the world.
