Telefónica has been recognised for the eighth time as a Leader in the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT (Internet of Things) Connectivity Services, Worldwide, the Gartner report that analyses the execution and vision of global IoT market players.

Telefónica, which provides its IoT and Big Data services through Telefónica Tech, is widely valued for its strong local presence and commercial strength. The market also recognises the company’s commitment to the development of platforms, such as Kite, deployed globally and hosted in the cloud to be accessible anytime, anywhere via web or API.

Gonzalo Martín-Villa, CEO of IoT and Big Data at Telefónica Tech, said: “We are very proud to receive, once again, this recognition that we think demonstrates the capabilities we have in IoT connectivity. In addition, the integration of IoT with Big Data allows us to accompany customers in their digital transformation with end-to-end projects extracting all the value from their data, and to expand our value proposition with complementary technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.

He adds: “Our partner ecosystem also allows us to strengthen our positioning with additional capabilities in order to offer our customers the most complete, comprehensive and innovative solutions on the market”.

Telefónica has the capabilities, platforms and professional talent to tackle the complex projects demanded by both local and global customers. The company currently has more than 40 million IoT connections worldwide, with strong growth in new access technologies such as NB-IoT and relying on differentiating assets such as the Kite managed connectivity platform in combination with other IoT and Big Data solutions.
