How long have you been at Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
This year 2024 I will be 12 years old, the first of them starting with a wonderful Talentum Scholarship for which I am here today and where I made some very good friends. Telefónica is a great family, full of great people, with professionals full of enthusiasm and excitement. Working here at the time was a dream and now I am very proud to be part of this team.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you feel particularly satisfied with or proud of?
Without a doubt, working in Video has been one of the best things that could happen to a telecoms graduate who studies sound and image. Getting to know the Movistar Plus+ platform first hand, participating in the deployment of new functionalities and even having previously given support in Operations has been a real luxury. Now, being able to do my bit in my homeland, Extremadura, after 9 years in Madrid, is also enriching.
I can’t forget to mention the great community of the Internal Teacher, one of the company’s top initiatives, which is committed to internal training and continuous learning for employees. Thanks to being able to participate in this programme, I have been able to meet incredible people.
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
Telefónica has been the best partner in our lives. It has always been and continues to be there, allowing us to be connected for 100 years thanks to the latest technology.
Right now it has a great role to play in society by supporting the digitalisation and innovation of companies, as well as constantly improving connectivity and entertainment in the home, while maintaining the quality of service that has always characterised us.
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
I see it constantly renewing itself, as it has always done, demonstrating that it is capable of overcoming new challenges, adapting to new technologies and proving once again that it has a great team behind it, full of enthusiasm and excitement.
Could you live without a mobile phone?
To tell you the truth, today my mobile phone is practically an extension of my body. I am very aware of the importance of digital disconnection and notification management to avoid the concentration problems that are so common nowadays, but I am a great advocate of technology as a tool for total productivity. Yes, I love gadgets.
Help us solve one of humanity’s great enigmas: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?
I love potato omelette with onion, preferably if it is well disguised by the potato in the texture. I have to say that I’m from the town where the potato omelette was born, Villanueva de la Serena, so I couldn’t miss the opportunity to answer #lodelatortilla. For a few years now, we have been celebrating Tortilla Day and it’s quite a party, so you’re all invited. Did you know that the first tortilla didn’t have potatoes, but potato and wheat flour? Curiously enough, it was not fried, but baked. That’s where I leave it.
Suggest a crazy idea that you would like Telefónica to do for its centenary
A face-to-face meeting full of events that would allow us to celebrate 100 years of history and motivate us to continue celebrating years full of energy.
