How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?

I joined in April 2023, so I’ve only been here a little while, although the experience has been very positive.

Is there any project at Telefónica that you are particularly satisfied with or proud of?

In general, the projects in which I am participating are giving us a lot of satisfaction, but perhaps the one that has most impressed me so far is the Telefónica Creators initiative, where employees from all over the company at a global level share their experience and knowledge on the Telefónica blog.

The initiative is allowing us to include different views from colleagues around the world, as well as very high quality content, some of it very technical and some of it more personal. In any case, it shows that at Telefónica we all have a voice and the tools to express it, it’s exciting.

What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?

I think giving people the ability to communicate regardless of distance or the way they do it is a real revolution.

Where do you see Telefónica in the future?

I suppose, doing the same, but at other levels: the internet of things or the metaverse could not exist without communications networks to support it. Further ahead, I don’t know, interplanetary communication? interdimensional?

Could you live without a mobile phone?

Yes, perfectly.

Help us solve one of humanity’s greatest enigmas: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?

Generally with onion, but without radicalism. I don’t care what’s in it as long as it’s made with love.

What crazy idea would you like Telefónica to come up with for its centenary?

A mega get-together without telephones or technology, or a virtual one in the metaverse. A bit of yesterday and tomorrow’s communication.

Nominate other colleagues to appear in this section.

I remember very fondly the time I worked at Ya.com about 25 years ago and I know that some of those colleagues are now at Telefónica, so I nominate the ones I have been able to find: David Santiago Turiño, Irene Benavides, Alfonso Colomé, Pablo de Carvajal, and as I know that Nacho Palou already did the #lodelatortilla interview, I nominate his brother Guillermo Palou and another excompi from previous adventures with whom I have coincided: Santiago Limonche.

In #Thespanishomelettething tag section we interview Telefónica’s employees on a variety of topics, while trying to solve one of humanity’s greatest dilemmas.
