How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
Well, 34 years, and it seems like yesterday! Whatever I tell you will always be too short: lots of great moments, great people and professionals from whom I have had the good fortune to learn, very good bosses. A few cold sweats, like when the switchboard caught fire on my first shift, and many moments of enjoyment in capital letters, often associated with training, my passion.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you feel particularly satisfied with or proud of?
Something very special about Telefónica is that there are “many Telefónicas” and I have been lucky enough to know quite a few of them. 34 years is a long time and I have always liked to get to know new worlds, new people and if you can do that within the same company, that’s the best….
What I am most proud of is having been able to learn from many colleagues and try to teach something of what I have learnt. And among those colleagues, if I have to keep something, being a “trainer of trainers” is very special, trainers have that unique sparkle in their eyes of those who enjoy learning and teaching, teaching and learning.
Collaborating in the development of our beloved SerForTel, Formador10 and now Virtual Skills Training (VST) has been a precious opportunity for the colleagues, for the laughs and for the work done. Thank you for giving me this gift.
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
Telefónica is enthusiasm. The illusion of an idea, of a project, of a way of life that each person chooses and where being able to communicate with the rest of the world is fundamental to being able to develop it.
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
Well, where we are all capable of positioning it, it is up to each and every one of us to build another 100 years that are even better than the previous ones.
Could you live without a mobile phone?
I think I am lucky to belong to a generation that saw the birth of the mobile phone and I remember a childhood and youth without a mobile phone.
Today I heard that any technology has its price to pay, and the mobile phone has several prices, among them the loss of our beloved attention. Like everything else, a balanced use is often the best recipe.
Help us solve one of humanity’s great enigmas: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?
This question reminds me of a cousin of mine who went to Rotterdam for Erasmus, I think I remember. She had a very bad time, cold, rain, she even felt a certain contempt for being Spanish… until she prepared a potato omelette at a party! It was a great success. So, the potato omelette, in all its variations.
