How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
On 20 June 2018, I joined Telefónica Móviles España after working for Telefónica as an outsourcer for 18 years. I know it’s going to sound a bit “corny” but since I was a little girl it was a dream I had to fulfil. I had two neighbours at my parents’ house (one in Madrid and the other in the Sierra) who worked for Telefónica, both in very different fields.
I remember how I used to listen to my neighbour Pedro talking to the technicians because there was a switchboard down and they had to solve problems of incommunication for clients and for me it was like the most important thing. On the other hand, Jose María was more involved in the technical design of networks and I found it amazing everything that is behind a telephone, a network or even a mobile phone.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you are particularly proud or satisfied with?
I am very lucky to have participated in very different projects in which I have been able to learn and collaborate with all areas of the company. Clients such as FCC, Indra, the General Directorate of the Police and the Presidency of the Government, where I collaborated as Telefónica’s representative at the European Summits held last year in Spain, are projects that have left a big mark on me!
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
I think it has contributed communication, commitment and much more. We have the best communications network in the country, which makes us a benchmark and a safe bet for all our customers, whether they are companies or not!
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
I see Telefónica at the forefront of technology, always contributing value to society.
Could you live without a mobile phone?
Not really, I think that nowadays we do everything with our mobile phones and this is a subject I have yet to tackle.
Help us solve one of humanity’s great enigmas: the potato omelette… With or without onion?
With onion. Actually, since I was a child I’ve eaten it without onion (because my mother doesn’t like it and makes it without onion) but as the years have gone by and I’ve been able to try other versions, I’ve stuck with the omelette with onion! What’s more… as a note, I recommend the one from the restaurant “Cañadio” in Santander, it’s from another planet!
