Telefónica Fest: 20 and 21 June 2024
Telefónica’s Innovation and Talent Hub joins the company’s centenary celebrations with Telefónica Fest, two days of activities combining technology, training and entertainment.
With the transformative potential of technology and the importance of training to achieve a sustainable digital society model in which we can all participate, on 20 and 21 June the doors of Distrito Telefónica will be open to enjoy technology, learn about new digital trends, learn and have fun.
This technology festival will feature numerous activities and experiences dedicated to people over the age of 16, with the collaboration of some of Telefónica’s technology partners.
Telefónica Fest activities
Find out about the activities included in this festival held at Telefónica’s corporate headquarters.
Music and entertainment
As there is no festival without music, Movistar Música will provide the soundtrack with live performances by emerging artists such as Kyotto, Lennis Rodríguez, Yogures de coco, Andreew, Linze and Mr.Cobol.
If you like role-playing games, you can take part in ‘Telefónica and Darkwave: an adventure through time’ and overcome the different challenges by going through the most important milestones of Telefónica’s 100 years with Telefónica OI Campus.
Gaming
Live a day of the best League of Legends league with Movistar KOI and meet its players is another experience offered by Telefónica Fest.
You can also have fun with the PlayStation Experience or with OWO Skin, the experience of the internet of the senses through its haptic system, as well as see that technology has no limits and take part in a Unified eSports competition organised by Fundación Telefónica and PlayStation.
Sport
Sport and technology come together at Movistar Plus+ with a sports storytelling workshop. You will also be able to see how Artificial Intelligence can change sports broadcasts or, with the magic of technology, stand on a set and become one of the star presenters of this television platform.
You can also learn how data analytics helps to improve the performance of the Movistar Team cyclists or take part in a virtual competition in this sport.
And if you like running, you can take part in a training session with Chema Martínez.
Technological challenges
Take part in 42’s Challenge in a gamified activity aimed at promoting STEM professions among women.
If you like programming, you can also sign up for the 48-hour Game Jam organised by 42, an innovative training model that came to Spain thanks to Fundación Telefónica, in collaboration with Madrid In Game and Meta; or the AgroInChange Hackathon organised as part of the iHub la Vega Innova by Wayra.
You can also capture ‘the flag’ with Telefónica Tech and learn about cybersecurity; or tour Distrito Telefónica and immerse yourself in the world of augmented reality with Distrito AR while discovering the brand values through different challenges.
Demos and experiences
You can enjoy the best immersive experiences in a space dedicated to extended reality (XR) through Movistar Immersive Experience (MEI) and the collaboration of Meta and YBVR; or participate in a holographic meeting powered by the 5G network and the Telefónica Edge.
Similarly, you can discover the web3 or get to know the world of NFTs through our Marketplace and take your commemorative centenary NFT in your digital wallet.
Discover Open Gateway, the initiative that opens up networks to developers to create better digital experiences, and relive the last ACB Copa del Rey final in an immersive experience are some of the possibilities offered at this event.
You can also go into an old telephone booth and ask Aura about our century-old history or collaborate in a process of creating more human technological experiences in our Experience Design Lab.
Training and outreach
Connect with entrepreneurship at Wayra Vibes and be encouraged to launch your own startup with inspiration from Chema Martínez and the creators of successful startups.
You can also enjoy a talk on digital humans and AI by Chema Alonso, Chief Digital Officer of Telefónica. Or visit Universitas, the company’s corporate university, and attend different talks and workshops on the potential of AI in society.
