How long have you been at Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
I have been at Telefónica for 25 years and my time here is intertwined with my time in this life, with my greatest contribution as a person and professional in the construction of a contemporary, inclusive, modern company that over the years has become a great technology company.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you are particularly satisfied with or proud of?
Many projects, I can especially mention the project to transform services into a business centre where in 2022 we did a great job to bring more profitability and revenue to the company through the relationship with customers in our call centre.
In this project every customer contact started to be seen as an opportunity contact. In addition to solving the customer’s request in our call centre, we also made a sale or monetisation of a new Vivo product, thus bringing more revenue to the company. Vivo makes our channel a business channel.
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
Telefónica brings a lot of things. It is a company that serves everything and everyone, which is why we say that Vivo has everything. We are a company that has been transforming itself over the years and we exclusively serve the needs of our society in Brazil, just as one day the need of consumers and society was to have a telephone and a physical line.
Today we serve society with connectivity, digital services, health services, education, agribusiness and many others. In this way, we contribute a lot to the advancement of society and we have a genuine concern for people and the growth of society, for the technology of our country and especially for the less privileged places and people.
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
I see Telefónica in the future as a great technology and connectivity company, being a great base for many other companies that will be our allies and will use our infrastructure to provide new services that are yet to come. Therefore, the future is a sea of opportunities for a century-old company that is concerned every day with transforming itself and being attentive to the needs of society and the countries where it is located!
Could you live without a mobile phone?
Unfortunately, in our way of life today, I can tell you that I cannot live without connection and I can also tell you that it will be impossible to live without connection in the future. Connectedness will be essential for people and businesses, but not necessarily for smartphones!
The mobile phone as we know it today will probably soon become unnecessary and other devices and technologies will emerge to replace it.

Always with lots of onion, please.
