Our digital gadget: a reliable real-time knowledge and news database in pocket size.
This is also confirmed by current figures and surveys: Consumers inform themselves primarily via e-papers and the websites of daily newspapers: Around 24% of respondents to a survey conducted as part of the Media Weighting Study 2023 stated that they use e-papers, websites or podcasts from daily newspapers or organisations as a source of information. This was followed by the use of online offerings from TV stations. The social media channels of companies and media houses are also rapidly gaining in importance as a source of information.
Keeping up with the times and putting this development into practice: that’s what we do in the heart of Berlin at Telefónica Deutschland’s representative office in the capital. As the Government Relations team, we not only work in our offices in the city center, but also in the adjacent BASECAMP – the platform and eventspace for digital thinking and doing. In 2O23, we realized a total of 61 hybrid events with 14,000 guests in this special room. Our associated blog reaches 131k visitors. Our focus: digital policy, digital transformation and technology. Throughout the year, our stage hosted renowned speakers: 3 federal ministers, 7 state secretaries, 14 members of the German Parliament, 1 minister president, 2 state ministers, 2 members of the European parliament and important figures from current affairs and public debate.

Future thinking
The BASECAMP provides space for visions and inspires with foresight. Here we anticipate, debate, politically polarize and think ahead. Technologies, trends and developments that are driving the digital transformation of our society and shaping our future are discussed.
Co-desing
The BASECAMP invites active participation. It is open to new ideas and different opinions. It is also available to partners as a platform for their own events. Everyone is welcome to actively participate and get involved.
New depelopement
The BASECAMP is practice-oriented. We work outside the box. This is where society, politics, business and culture come together to discuss new approaches and develop visions for the future. This is how change is driven, norms are moved and new things are shaped.
Our Drive & mission: Anyone can be part of this community – because our events not only take place on site in Berlin, but also online via livestream. In addition, all events are accompanied by corresponding posts on social media, background information on our blog basecamp.digital and our podcast. For colleagues in particular, this means that it’s worth listening in, clicking in and watching in. Because you will experience Telefónica from a completely new perspective.
