Success story about Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in Germany

Our journey into the world of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) began in 2012 with the introduction of the freeware "auto-it." What started as a simple experiment quickly developed into a significant project as more and more requests came our way.

Introduction of Blue Prism and Infrastructure Setup (2019)

In 2019, we took a major step forward by introducing the automation software “Blue Prism.” This enterprise software enabled us to handle large volumes. We defined processes and set up a robust infrastructure in our data center.

RPA Center of Excellence and Agile Methods (2020)

By 2020, we achieved the status of “RPA Center of Excellence” (CoE). At the same time, we introduced Scrum as an agile working method and had an impressive 116 robots in operation. This combination of structure and flexibility allowed us to quickly respond to changes and continuously make improvements.

Infrastructure Expansion and First AI Integration (2021)

In 2021, we expanded our infrastructure and successfully passed our first internal audit. A significant milestone was the development of the first use case that combined RPA and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This innovation enabled us to automate more complex tasks and further increase efficiency.

Growth and Introduction of RPA Supervisor (2022)

Our robot farm grew to 250 virtual robots in 2022. To manage these efficiently, we identified the software “RPA Supervisor (C TWO).” This solution helped us optimize the management and monitoring of our robots.

Proof of Concept for IDP and Cloud Preparations (2023)

In 2023, we started a Proof of Concept (PoC) for document reading, known as Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). At the same time, we began preparations for the introduction of additional services in the cloud.

Production Start of IDP and Cloud Integration (2024)

2024 was another significant year as we introduced IDP into production and brought our cloud servers online. These new servers enabled us to develop web interfaces for our customers, allowing departments to work more easily and efficiently.

Current Status and Future Goals

Today, we have 250 robots in operation, have implemented over 200 process automations, and handle between 60,000 and 90,000 cases daily. Our RPA journey is a continuous process of innovation and improvement.

Next Steps: Integration of Gen AI and Speech Processing (2025)

Our next steps include integrating Generative AI (Gen AI) and RPA in a Proof of Concept (PoC). The idea is that customer inquiries received via email will be checked against a Large Language Model (LLM) and the best response will be displayed to the customer. Additionally, we are working on converting speech to text, using speech data for further actions through AI and RPA. These developments will further enhance our automation capabilities and enable us to respond to customer inquiries even more efficiently.”
