Distrito Telefónica hosted the start of the last stage of La Vuelta 2024, an individual time trial of just over 24 kilometres that finished in front of the emblematic Telefónica building on Madrid’s Gran Vía, in which Stefan Küng of the Swiss Groupama-FDJ team won the stage.
After three weeks of competition, Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) was the winner, joined on the podium by Ben O’Connor (Decathlon AG2R) and Enric Mas (Movistar Team),
The honour roll was completed by Kaden Groves (winner of the points jersey), Jay Vine (winner of the mountains), Mattias Skjelmose (best young rider), the UAE team, best squad of the competition and Marc Soler as the most combative rider.
The chairman of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete, accompanied by, among others, the director of La Vuelta, Javier Guillén, and the mayor of the Spanish capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, was an exceptional witness to an unforgettable day.
This ‘Telefónica Stage’ was one more of the many celebrations that will go down in history to commemorate the Telefónica Centenary.

Movistar Team’s Enric Mas wins his fourth podium in La Vuelta

Since Movistar Team began in 2010, there have been numerous victories of great value for the ‘telefónica’ squad, a team with which the company shares its values.

Victories such as the 2014 Giro d’Italia or the 2016 La Vuelta by Nairo Quintana, Richard Carapaz’s 2019 Giro d’Italia or Alejandro Valverde’s 2018 Road World Championship are some of the most emblematic of those that fans have etched in their minds.

The Balearic rider Enric Mas has achieved in this 2024 edition of La Vuelta his fourth podium in the Spanish round after three second places, in 2018, 2021 and 2022.
