How long have you been at Telefónica and how would you rate your time here?

A year ago, I made the bold decision to pack my entire life into two suitcases and move across the country to join Telefónica. My expectations were high, and I’m thrilled to say that Telefónica has exceeded them in every way. This past year has been one of the most transformative periods of my life, thanks in large part to the incredible experiences I’ve had here.

The people at Telefónica are amazing; working alongside such talented and inspiring colleagues has been a continuous learning journey. The challenging projects I’ve tackled have pushed me to the edge of my comfort zone, cultivating both personal and professional growth. It has truly been a blissful experience.

Is there any project at Telefónica that you are particularly satisfied with or proud of?

What I am particularly proud of is that the initiatives and projects we are tackling in the Cyber Defence Center (CDC) are crucial and impactful. Each project is meticulously planned and executed, allowing us to stand firmly behind our work. The collective effort towards a common goal—making Telefónica a safer place—is evident in every detail. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a team where everyone is united in their commitment to enhancing security.

What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?

If I were to personify Telefónica, it embodies the qualities of a leader, supporter, innovator, and advocate for change.

As a leader in climate management, Telefónica has taken significant action against climate change, a commitment that fills me with pride. Their proactive stance on environmental issues demonstrates a genuine dedication to making a positive impact on our planet.

Telefónica is also a staunch supporter of athletes and their aspirations. I’ve been particularly impressed by their support for Sebastian Steudtner, the world’s best surfer, in his endeavors at Nazaré, Portugal. Seeing the company I work for back such remarkable talent is truly inspiring.

Furthermore, Telefónica’s relentless pursuit of innovation in technology and its commitment to digital transformation highlights its role as a continuous advocate for change. The company’s efforts to drive progress and improve lives through technology are a testament to its vision for a better future.

Where do you see Telefónica in the future?

I see Telefónica continuing to embody the same qualities of leadership, support, innovation, and advocacy for change that it does today, but on an even larger scale. As the world evolves, Telefónica will adapt and thrive, setting new standards for what is possible.

In terms of cybersecurity, I envision our team becoming the most trusted and reliable security partner in the industry, leading the way in protecting and empowering our clients in an increasingly digital world.

Could you live without a mobile phone?

It’s not so much a question of whether I could live without a mobile phone—I likely could. The real question is whether I could function effectively and maintain the level of connectivity I currently have. My mobile phone is integral to establishing and building new connections, sharing my ideas and passions, and maintaining relationships. It serves as a crucial bridge towards achieving my goals, making it an indispensable part of my daily life and an important piece of the puzzle.

Help us solve one of humanity’s great enigmas: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?

The truth is, I’ve only tried the potato omelette once, and it was without onions. I really loved it! However, I might change my mind if I try the version with onions. Currently, it is still an open question for me.
