How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
I started at Tuenti at the end of 2010, when Telefónica already had a stake, and it wasn’t until the end of 2013 that it was fully integrated. In all these years I have had the opportunity to evolve alongside colleagues who are top professionals, participating in different areas such as QA, development of support tools for other teams and creation of mobile applications for our millions of customers in different countries, in both developer and manager roles.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you feel particularly satisfied with or proud of?
I would say the evolution over the years from coding a social network application for users in Spain, to serving the customers of the group’s main OBs around the world, with countless changes and adaptations along the way that have been a great technical challenge.
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
Innovation and development aimed at improving communication, both for people and companies, many direct and indirect jobs with their corresponding impact on the economy, and the projects and initiatives of the Telefónica Foundation, to highlight several aspects.
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
I am confident that it will continue to do so by keeping technological innovation as a rudder to steer with. Telefónica has a lot of resources and talent in its workforce, but its size makes achieving this a constant challenge.
Could you live without a mobile phone?
I lived without it for many years… but the challenge is to know how to take advantage of the benefits it offers without falling into the trap of dependency.
Help us solve one of humanity’s great enigmas: the potato omelette… With or without onions?
The omelette with onion, but without extremism, please. If it’s well made and doesn’t have onions, I enjoy it just the same. By the way, I recommend the book ‘La tortilla de patatas’ by Debate, to learn about it and have a few laughs.
