MWC transformation handbooks: technology at the service of society

Under the slogan ‘Leading Change Inspiring Progress’, Telefónica presents at the Mobile World Congress in its 2025 edition, held in Barcelona from 3 to 6 March, the most disruptive technological solutions with which to inspire progress and lead change.

Innovative and inspiring use cases linked to quantum computing, the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence will be on display both at the stand and in the sessions that will take place in the Agora.

Likewise, and to reinforce the company’s value proposition for this event, Telefónica has published a total of four digital handbooks on its microsite about the MWC, featuring some thirty success stories of solutions and services developed by the company.

These transformation handbooks showcase technological capabilities with applications in four major areas, demonstrating how digital transformation is fundamental to the progress and sustainability of society.

Innovation Handbook

Telefónica’s Agora at the Mobile World Congress will be a reflection of knowledge and innovation, a space in which speakers and visitors will debate and learn about the most disruptive technological innovations, solutions and success stories that the operator has at the service of people, companies and society.

Over the course of 25 live sessions (whose agenda you can consult day by day) over the four days of the event, it will be shown, among other things, how innovation is one of the driving forces of society.

As we mentioned earlier, Telefónica’s slogan at this 2025 edition of the MWC is ‘We lead change, we inspire progress’, a concept around which the innovation with which to drive society and business pivots.

An inspiration for progress that at this annual fair will be seen through different demos that can be seen at the stand combining the opportunities presented by technologies such as open networks, drones, quantum technology or the latest in cybersecurity.

Sustainability Handbook

ESG criteria are part of Telefónica’s strategy and history, accelerating responsible digitalisation that generates competitiveness and positive impact.

Digital solutions and networks enable the green transition, as well as helping to reduce emissions to achieve Net Zero by 2040.

By providing tangible data, Telefónica reduced its energy consumption by 7.9% between 2025 and 2024, despite the fact that data traffic increased 8.3 times in the same period. In the same period, CO2 emissions were reduced by 52%.
