How long have you been at Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
I joined the company in 2012 through a Talentum grant. More than a decade now!
It has been a few years of countless professional experiences, all of them enriching, of continuous learning and, above all, of having the opportunity to work with extraordinary professionals from different areas and disciplines.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you feel particularly satisfied with or proud of?
In the end, from each of the projects in which I have participated over the years, I have had one or more very positive experiences. All of them have been a real learning experience. However, to name just one, I will mention one of the first. Shortly after I joined, I had the opportunity to contribute to the launch of a new mobile app, The Movistar Store. It was very exciting and educational because it was a moment of absolute explosion in the markets of the main operating systems (iOs and Android) and in this way, we were creating a new means of communication with the customer that had not existed until then.
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
For a century Telefónica has always been there, connected to people and offering the most cutting-edge technology of the moment. It may seem obvious, but I think it is an incredible achievement for a company that is over a century old to have constantly been at the forefront, able to innovate time and time again, adapting to the demands of the market and to the new times in the broadest sense imaginable.
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
I see it as it is now, as one of the main drivers of progress: leading the technological changes of today and tomorrow (ultrafast networks, artificial intelligence, internet of things, etc.) and at the epicentre of society, tangibly facilitating communication and, therefore, improving people’s day-to-day lives.
Could you live without a mobile phone?
Maybe for a couple of days… because a mobile phone is no longer just a tool for talking, we tend to carry half our lives on it: photos, notes, diary, apps for almost everything…
Help us solve one of the great enigmas of humanity: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?
The truth is that I like it both ways, I would say it depends on the day or the moment. However, if I have to choose, I choose the potato omelette with onion. Let’s just say it gives it a slightly more special touch.
