We have been working for years on specific actions to ensure that everyone at Telefónica has the same opportunities, regardless of gender or any other consideration. To this end, we have created a broad framework of actions that promote diversity, equality and inclusion in different areas in all the geographical areas in which we operate.

Below is a summary of some of the main milestones achieved in recent years.

  • We have surpassed our 2024 target for women managers, reaching 34% of managerial positions. This figure brings us closer to meeting our target of 37% by 2027.
  • We continue to drive a number of actions globally, focusing on cultivating a strong pipeline of women professionals through mentoring, training and advancement opportunities. For example, through Universitas, we are developing training specifically aimed at the pipeline of pre-executive female talent, through which more than 1,000 professionals have already passed in recent years.
  • The percentage of women throughout the company is increasing year on year, currently reaching 39.5% of the workforce.
  • More than 90% of people working at Telefónica say they feel included in the workplace. This reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a working environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

In addition to the increase in representation, we are aware that the journey towards equality must be tackled with awareness, leadership and tools to generate inclusive spaces, which is why we have reinforced our online training offer with content on diversity, unconscious biases, inclusive language and other topics related to female empowerment, gender equality and work-life balance and equality (Reskilling Time), as well as participating in networking events, personal branding (WomenWithTech) and positioning for equality.

Finally, we highlight some of the prestigious external recognitions that endorse our commitment and achievements in Gender Diversity during 2024:

  • Bloomberg Diversity: we consolidated our position in the Gender Equality Index for several consecutive years.
  • Latam Inclusive Tech Awards: ‘Pioneering Initiative’ award for Mujeres en Red.
  • FEDEPE Awards: recognition for promoting the development of women with disabilities.
  • We have held the Distinction for Equality in Business (DIE) since 2020. This recognition is awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Equality.
  • In Brazil, we maintain our presence in the top 15 women’s companies awarded by Great Place to Work.

These are very inspiring figures that reaffirm our commitment to gender diversity and equality at Telefónica.
