The main objective of training is for all professionals to be effective and efficient, reducing the risks of making mistakes and, on the contrary, increasing productivity to improve the positioning of companies.
Benefits of training in a company
Corporate training is vital for today’s companies. Training professionals in companies is a great challenge, mainly because it is necessary to get their employees to enhance their growth through motivating and attractive training, so that productivity in teams increases and companies achieve their best ratings among their customers.
The aim of the training is for professionals to acquire skills to strengthen their knowledge and improve their daily efficiency, but also for the training to promote the growth of their professionals so that they can opt for positions of greater responsibility and more recognition. In short, the learning and development of all profiles is promoted.
Examples of training courses to boost the performance of professionals
Onboarding training
This is the most important training for integrating new resources into companies. Onboarding training introduces new professionals to the company’s culture, values and objectives. In addition, it is important to introduce them to the team, the position they will hold and orient them to the products and services offered by their current company. In this way, they will know the expectations of their performance as well as the responsibilities they will have to assume in their new position.
Compliance training
These are mandatory trainings in all companies, which allow orientation on regulations, internal rules and regulations, ensuring that employees understand how to stay away from committing any work-related offences.
These trainings will cover topics such as anti-discrimination policies, data protection or security issues. These are now mandatory online trainings.
Interpersonal skills training
These trainings pursue technical competences, but also aim to develop skills such as communication, problem solving or conflict resolution, as well as teamwork skills. They are recommended to be interactive, face-to-face and online trainings, in order to be attractive and motivating for all professionals.
Leadership training
These trainings aim to identify the leadership style of your professionals. Professionals must be able to develop skills to learn to express themselves clearly, energise their team and make strategic decisions. This is where the future leaders of large companies will come from.
Diversity and sustainability training
The goal of any company is to create a diverse and inclusive place to maintain a positive environment with diverse talent to increase productivity and achieve higher goals.
Cultural competence is a major goal, seeking to understand, express and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds.
Environmental responsibility is another important goal for companies to pursue, making employees aware of the importance of sustainability in order to attract customers who have the same goal for the planet.
Product or service training
Companies consider it very important to involve their employees in the products or services they offer in the market. In this way, they get them to be the best ambassadors, getting to know their products from the inside in order to project them to the end customer. In this way, it is possible to increase sales, improve customer satisfaction and motivate employees by involving them in the positioning of the company in the market.
Training with in-house trainers
One of the great potentials of companies is to position the professional as an important part of employee training. Currently, companies are promoting the figure of the ‘internal teacher’, which means that any professional can teach their skills acquired during their experience to other professionals in order to promote growth and improve the skills of their colleagues. These are internally recognised trainings, which are highly motivating for those who give the trainings, as well as for the colleagues who receive them.
This is perhaps one of the major breakthroughs for companies, as it has increased training compliance and improved the motivation of professionals to meet company development objectives.
In short, training continues to show great evolution over time. Nowadays, there are numerous training courses available to any professional, which allows for constant progress in the development of skills.
My experience
At Telefónica we are fortunate to have a great ‘Reskilling’ training team, a team that promotes through communication channels, such as Teams, Workplace, Sap Jam, training with live sessions, face-to-face training, online training, interactive training, which help us in training for our job.
We have within our reach a wide range of possibilities that seek to develop our skills and promote our growth in order to opt for more recognised positions or profiles in the company. It is important not to lag behind in the evolution of our profiles and to be aware of revolutionising our work day by day.
In my particular field as an executive secretary at Telefónica and Bluevía, I have taken around 300 courses (online, face-to-face) and all of them have allowed me to evolve and develop personal and professional skills, achieving the objective of adapting to new projects and teams, evolving with new technologies and new ways of working.
