How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
I have been linked to Telefónica for almost 6 years, first in People and now in the Financial Planning and Equity area.
During this time I have seen an incredible display of ideas, efforts and work that have allowed us to have the Telefónica of today, this company that is a leader in its sector because it always trusts in its people and its capacity to develop the best technology to continue growing and advancing at the fast pace that today’s world demands.
I feel really happy because during this time I have had the opportunity to develop personally and professionally in a competitive company that is committed to young talent and the value of people.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you are particularly satisfied with or proud of?
During my time in Human Resources I had the opportunity to experience first-hand a lot of wonderful initiatives that have been passed on to the rest of the company, for example, the adaptation and transformation of processes during the pandemic and how mechanisms were created on the fly that adapted to the needs that arose, how we overcame the challenges we faced to work 100% remotely and emerge stronger. Today, reconciling family and work is a reality thanks to all the efforts we have made.
Today I feel very proud to work in a strategic area for the company and to work with a team of people of the highest level.
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
Thanks to its constant innovation, it has brought connectivity to the furthest corners of the world, making distances shorter and making us feel closer even when we are hundreds or thousands of kilometres away, allowing us to be integrated into a digital world.
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
I see Telefónica leading the digital market by increasing its commitment to a sustainable communications system, managing to maintain human links from a digital perspective.
Could you live without a mobile phone?
I don’t think so, technology is a fundamental part of our daily lives, thanks to my mobile phone I can find my way around when I go to a place I haven’t visited before, thanks to my mobile phone I can call my friends and remind them how much I love them, thanks to my mobile phone I can keep in touch with my family in Mexico, technology has to bring you closer to what you love the most.
Help us solve one of the great enigmas of humanity: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?
We have the same enigma on the other side of the pond… are quesadillas with cheese or without cheese, my answer to both is that anything goes, but I always like it with everything, so I go with onion; in fact, curdled, but with a juicy touch.
Suggest a crazy idea that you would like Telefónica to do for its 100th anniversary
What if we set a Guinness World Record for the most phone or video calls made at the same time? To achieve this, we could invite employees, family and friends from around the world to participate and celebrate Telefónica’s 100th anniversary through global connectivity, establishing the greatest digital link in history.
