How long have you been at Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?

Well, I arrived at the end of 2018, with a lot of enthusiasm, but I confess that I also had a lot of fears, and the experience has been very positive. It is a real luxury to be able to work with so many different people, learning from each and every one of them.

There is nothing we can’t do, and that’s fascinating!

Is there any project at Telefónica that you feel particularly satisfied with or proud of?

Actually, I’ve enjoyed all the projects I’ve been involved in, they’ve given me a lot. But if I had to choose just one, I would say the launch of “Inside Sales” within the B2B team. Knowing that what we implemented in Spain has been taken to countries like Brazil and Germany and that there are people there working in the same way is very exciting. In addition, this project was the embryo for many other projects, so having had the opportunity to see it grow has been very nice.

What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?

To answer this question, I am going to share an anecdote that marked me. Eleven years ago (I was not yet working in the sector), during a workshop with customers, an elderly man came up to me and told me how important it had been for his family to use the telephone to communicate with his family after an earthquake (he was living in Chile at the time). I had never understood telecommunications in that way before and that is how, without being a telecommunications professional, I fell in love with the sector.

That’s why I couldn’t like more the spirit that, for 100 years, Telefónica has been proclaiming “making our world more human by connecting people’s lives”.

Where do you see Telefónica in the future?

I hope it will be able to take advantage of this value of connection in the most technological environments, becoming a key pillar for society. It has a great advantage over other technological players, and that is the emotion it generates in customers.

Could you live without a mobile phone?

What is the point? For me, the problem is not how much you use it, but when and how you use it. Why would I want to live without being able to talk to my mother before going to sleep, even if we are not together, to stop having my family photos in my pocket at hand at all times, or to be able to answer an email, accessing all my documents, without having to have a computer nearby.

Help us solve one of the great enigmas of humanity: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?

We add one more point to the omelette WITH onion.

Suggest a crazy idea that you would like Telefónica to do for its centenary

In line with the Power of Connections programme we had a couple of years ago and which involved the whole company, I imagine a video in which we could all participate. All of us. Employees, but also customers, even other companies. Who doesn’t have a nice word to dedicate to a century-old company?

Nominate another colleague to appear in this section.

I nominate Rosany Silva, she is a great woman who inspires me with her positive attitude, her energy and her ability to move forward without fear of anything!!!! Also to Teresa González Azcona for bringing that fresh spirit to the team that suits us all so well.

In #Thespanishomelettething tag section we interview Telefónica’s employees on a variety of topics, while trying to solve one of humanity’s greatest dilemmas.
