Today we are facing a new reality, different from the one we knew five years ago, and we are constantly trying to learn its codes and limits.

It is true that our daily lives are too different from those of our parents, let alone those of our grandparents. If the last century was the century of great transformations, the 21st century is the century of great transformations at the speed of light.

So, our entire spectrum of knowledge is under the magnifying glass of evaluation, for a latent change… Is our knowledge sufficient, do you have to reskill in your profession, how do you make your company or small business reinvent itself in these times?

How does the use of AI impact your present and future? Learn how to use it

There are many things we can do, but I believe that ignoring reality is not the way. We must reflect on it: how do our dreams and projects align with the technological and social transformations in which we live?

We must not forget that we are fundamental actors in this transformation of reality. And that knowledge about it is the indispensable tool to continue growing, learning and bringing our objectives to fruition.

And you may be thinking: but how do I start? How do I know if I am putting AI to good use?

To answer this question, here is a list of important points for you to consider when interacting with AI.

Keys to interacting with AI

Ask yourself about the results

  • They are not absolute truths. AI models can make mistakes. Of course they can. Remember that they are trained and, if they have not been confronted with certain situations or data in their training, they may give the wrong answer.
  • Always verify information: Use your own knowledge or judgement about the information you are given. Also corroborate it with other sources to validate its veracity.
  • Ask for explanations: Ask how the AI came to that conclusion. This will help you better understand how it works and identify possible biases.

Identify biases

  • AI models learn from the data they are given. If the data is biased, the model will be biased too.
  • Look at how the AI represents different groups of people or concepts – is there stereotyping or discrimination?
  • Evaluate the results: Do the results favour a particular group? Are there any injustices or inequalities?

Use of privacy

  • Understand how your data is used: Who has access to your data? How is it stored and protected? Companies should be transparent about how they use your data and for what purposes.
  • Protect your information: Use privacy tools and security settings to protect your data.

Develop your skills

  • Learn about AI: The more you know about how AI works, the better you can evaluate it.
  • Collaborate with others: Work with AI experts and other disciplines to address challenges holistically.
