After Australia, Turkey assumes the presidency of the G20 group of major economies, representing 85 percent of the world’s GDP and 75 percent of the world’s trade , for 2015.

The launch of this new presidency formally took place on the past 1st December.

Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said at a press conference in Ankara, that three words will guide Turkey´s G20 Presidency for 2015:

– Inclusivity,

– Implementation

– Investments for growth

The objective of the Turkish presidency is to make the G20 reach out to low income countries and take care of the ones that are not G20 members in an inclusive way, in order to fight global inequality. The host country may invite the countries that would add value during its presidency, and Singapore, Spain and Azerbaijan will be invited to the G20 Summit in 2015.

According to the new G20 Presidency, the leaders of the world’s 20 largest economies will discuss the following topics in 2015:

– Economic growth,

– Infrastructure investments,

– Financial regulation,

– International financial architecture,

– International tax issues,

– Energy,

– Trade,

– Employment,

– Financing climate change,

– Development

– And the fight against corruption.

This year, there will also be a B20, gathering the international business community, with most representative international companies from different economic sectors worldwide.

Telefónica has been participating to the B20 community since its creation under the Korean G20 Presidency in 2010 and the company will contribute again this year to the B20 work.

For 2015, Turkey has expressed his will to gather the work done by the B20 to the G20 closer than in the previous years. It will organize joint meetings, events & collaborative initiatives to help alignment G/B20 positions and finally, the 10th G20 Annual Summit will be held in Antalya, a southwestern province, on Nov. 15-16, 2015, jointly with the B20.
