I always start the day too sleepy… I’m not a morning person… that’s why my mornings start with coffee. If I’m in the Telefonica District, my first stop is Starbucks to inject a tank of American coffee into my veins or on special days, a vanilla latte, obviously always with my reusable thermos.

Without a doubt, my working day starts with catching up on my email, to organise my agenda and always with an obligatory stop reading SOMOS, I love to find out the latest corporate news from Telefónica. Above all, it is important to review this corporate news with a very focused eye on what content can be most relevant for ESG analysts and investors, our target audience to generate content and focus the communication and marketing strategy in my area, Development and Impact within the Global Sustainability Department.

I also have to confess my little addiction to LinkedIn, so after soaking up SOMOS, I usually take a few minutes to have a quick look at ESG news on that social network.

My tools

For some months of the year, almost 4, my star tool is Workiva (collaborative platform for making documents). When it’s reporting period you wake up with Workiva notifications, you eat with Workiva notifications and you dream with Workiva notifications. You can love it and hate it all you want, but without a doubt, once you start reporting, it is the most popular platform among colleagues and the one that makes it possible to work together with more than 40 people simultaneously.

Another is Accumbamail, one of my most used tools. On this platform we build the newsletters for ESG analysts and investors. I really enjoy the whole process of generating newsletters: layout, design and CRM management. I love starting from scratch to create an attractive design with content that is always focused on sustainability. I also find it very interesting to experiment with the best times to send the mailings, to discover the type of content that is most attractive, that gets more clicks…

Sometimes, you think that a content is going to be super successful and you are surprised with another post that gets more attention from users. The truth is that it’s a super creative process where content is king and imagination takes flight.

My best moment of the day

I love participatory projects that give rise to proposals from all colleagues, of course starting a new project always fills me with enthusiasm and if it is with the help of several members of the team, so much the better. I think I am lucky because very few people in my management have the pleasure of being able to collaborate continuously with the 40 people who make up the team. So I can say that one of my favourite moments are those collaborative spaces.

My tips for getting organised

I have an eternal to do’s list that I update every day, this is key to follow up on all relevant issues and certainly not to forget any of them. There is no greater feeling of satisfaction than every time you manage to cross an activity off the list, it’s a tremendous pleasure.

I have this list of to do’s in a scheduled meeting with myself to take advantage of gaps without meetings and make the most of those “dead times”.

I consider myself an organised person, I’m a bit of a maniac and I keep all my documents and contents in Sharepoint folders organised by year and subject. I find it very important to have the work of previous years available in a coherent and organised way, because when I need to revisit a campaign, a report, a video or a piece of communication, reviewing the history is essential to remember what worked best.

Due to the nature of my work focused on ESG marketing and communication, I collaborate with many people, both internally and externally… so I try to prioritise in my agenda those projects that involve more people, which are usually the ones that take more time and above all, it is often complicated to coincide due to the complex agendas of all my colleagues.

I am a big fan of processes, I think it is extremely important to repeat a process if you see that it is working correctly and above all the ideal is to start from something that already works and always think about improving it. I firmly believe that this is the best way to work and I try to apply it to the different projects that tend to be repetitive.
