My start of the day

I like to get up early to start the day without rushing. Since my children are older, I take advantage of this moment to have time for myself and start the day off on the right foot.

My morning routine includes a walk with my dog while listening to the news, a good coffee and half an hour of exercise. I also dedicate another half hour, before going to the office, to check emails, plan the day’s activities and pending issues, prioritizing the most valuable tasks. I like the feeling of starting the day with everything planned and organized.

Something I value a lot is the flexibility of the hybrid telework model we have implemented in Telefonica Tech. In my case, I work in the District from Monday to Thursday, days in which I take the opportunity to hold 1-2-1 sessions, committees and face-to-face meetings with my teams. I telework from home in the late afternoons and on Fridays, when I do individual work and remote meetings with suppliers or countries.

My daily tools

As head of the Artificial Intelligence unit at Telefonica Tech, I need to be aware of and use the new tools that allow companies to increase productivity. The main tools I currently use in my day to day are:

  • Microsoft 365 applications with Copilot as an AI assistant. I use it more and more to compose emails, summarize documents or meetings. In this sense, the “Drop of Knowledge” suggestions with tips and inspirational prompts prepared by Telefonica Tech’s Copilot pilot team are very useful.
  • Salesforce as a platform for tracking the funnel of opportunities and offers presented to customers. This tool provides an overview of sales activity, customizable tracking dashboards and can be consulted from both PC and cell phone.
Sharepoint from the Bid Committee is the tool that allows me to review the business cases of customer bids that I need to evaluate and approve. The tool directly communicates the decision to the teams involved, facilitating the approval process.
  • AI & Data Portal, a tool we have recently launched, where we collect the information of interest of our unit and that facilitates our daily activity: events, trainings, projects, processes, as well as access to the Telefonica Tech tools we use on a daily basis.

My best moment of the day

Clearly, my favorite thing about my job as head of AI & Data at TTech is reviewing the evolution of the business with my team. Depending on the day of the week, we have meetings organized to follow up on the different aspects of the unit: deals in progress, commercial activity, customer project execution, service development, partner relations, operations and business results.

Some tips to get organized

I am a fairly methodical person and, over the years, I have picked up some habits that allow me to organize myself better to be more productive.

For example, I have the habit of taking notes in the meetings in which I participate because it helps me to fix the most important ideas and allows me to remember what was discussed later. I use One Note (now with Copilot) to make my To Do’s list and summarize the most important points of the meetings. I find it very useful to insert screenshots of the most relevant slides and include links to documents or emails.

Another habit I have incorporated is not to respond immediately to emails interrupting other tasks (unless it is something urgent). I mark those important emails that I have to answer or read carefully. This way, I don’t forget to answer anything relevant but it doesn’t affect my productivity during the day.

Finally, I find it very useful to use the auto-chat functionality in Teams. I auto-send myself articles, documents or images that I want to review later.
