What fascinates me most about my work is that no day is ever monotonous. Every day is a new adventure, with no defined routine, because my job is to create audiovisual products out of nothing, to tell stories that reach and launch messages that last. My job starts when I receive an email or when the phone rings: that’s when my new challenge begins.
The first step is always to understand what the management I work with needs. I work cross-functionally, covering audiovisual needs for internal communication campaigns, LinkedIn posts, events and external campaigns.
My day may start with a meeting where the requirements are explained to me, and from that moment the scripting process begins. I analyse the technical resources, locations and available staff, and from there, the creative magic happens.
Trust: the basis of everything
Trust is essential in my day-to-day work. My managers trust me and my abilities to make each project a success. This mutual trust allows me to work with freedom and autonomy, knowing that they expect the best from me at every step. Whether in internal projects or collaborations with organisations such as Telefónica and the Guardia Civil, trust is the driving force that drives me to give the best of myself and meet the company’s expectations.
Commitment: daily self-improvement
My commitment is simple but profound: I always seek to be a little better every day, to surpass myself in every project. When I work on the planning of a shoot, from script to editing, my commitment to excellence is what guides me. I draw shot by shot what I want to see on screen, visit locations and organise every detail so that the shoot is efficient and without interfering too much with the schedule of the people involved. My goal is for everything to fit together like clockwork. And although every project has its complexity – some with animations, others simpler – my commitment is that the final result always speaks for itself.
Creativity: the heart of my work
Creativity is my constant companion. It’s not just a matter of dreaming, but of finding ways to turn those dreams into reality. This is where the real magic begins: conveying a message without needing to hear words. As a professor of audiovisual directing used to say: ‘If you turn the volume down to zero and you are able to follow the plot with the images alone, the director’s job is well done’. That’s what my job is all about, telling a coherent story with images alone, combining each visual element so that it speaks for itself, so that the images dance to the music and everything is in perfect harmony. For this, continuity, the expression of the people who appear and visual coherence are key.
Finally, it’s time for post-production, where everything comes to life. Sometimes the process is quicker, in simple projects, and sometimes it takes longer, especially when there are more elaborate animations or videos. The important thing is that each project is unique, and this is where my creativity is fully deployed.
The perfect balance
My day-to-day life would not be possible without this balance of trust, commitment and creativity. Each of these elements is fundamental and is present in everything I do. My work is not routine, and I love that: from planning events to making corporate videos, there is always something new to discover, new ways to tell a story, to connect with an audience and to create a lasting impact.
At the end of the day, when I look back, I know that every project is an opportunity to learn, to better myself and to continue exploring the immense power of audiovisual communication. And so, my work not only fulfils me, but also leaves a mark on those who receive it.
