In this article he tells us about his experience. She found the celebrations at Distrito Telefónica in Madrid to be amazing. She is still amazed with all the activities and concerts. She tells us that it has been a privilege for her to be here and to experience such a big party: the Telefónica party.

The agenda of events that I experienced in Madrid

18th April

  • 10:00 a.m.: Tour of the District, in which our squares and streets were named after emblematic people for Telefónica.
  • I discovered the choreography of Guillem Roma’s song that sets our new Centenary spot to music.

19th April

  • 9:45 a.m.: Opening bell rang at the Madrid Stock Exchange. It was led by our chairman, José María Álvarez-Pallete. I also stopped by the photocall located between entrances A and B of the Central Building (District) and took my own symbolic photo.
  • Then I got my special employee kit, from the Centenary in Distrito.
  • 12:00 h.: we recorded a very special programme in which we talked about ‘telephones’ with Ferrán Adriá and Adriana Torrebejano together with our illustrious Javier Coronas, Javier Cansado and Pepe Colubi.
  • 13:00 h.: we immortalise our 100th anniversary with a family photo in Distrito.
  • We have a charity market (next to the Distrito lake). The foundations Apadis, Prodis and Juegaterapia.

20 and 21 April: Open Day

I started with a tour in 42Madrid, which has moved me a lot of things inside. It reminded me of 10 years ago when I studied programming in a village in Alicante, here in Spain.

Back then there were hardly any women in the STEAM field. I felt out of place, as almost all of them were men. But finally, we can see more and more girls and women interested in these disciplines.

In this way I was also able to get to know the facilities of Universitas, Telefónica’s university. I have been working at Telefónica Brazil for two years and I have already taken all the courses on the platform, and I have even repeated some of them because of the interest they have generated in me. I also took part in the screening, and I had a great time.

I would also love to be able to go to the concert at the Santiago Bernabéu where Alejandro Sanz, Hombres G and the Malaga singer Ana Mena will be performing on 18 May, as well as other guest artists, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to get the days off I have, or if I’ll have to go back to Brazil!

23rd April

We attended the presentation of our Centenary book at Espacio Fundación Telefónica.

Celebrations in my country, Brazil

In Brazil, the anniversary festivities are already being celebrated these days. It is true, not like in Spain, but at a lower level of production, but they will also last throughout the year.

The opening of the anniversary celebrations in Brazil took place with an Open Day. It was a very human party, as each employee brought his or her family and children, and we had the opportunity to get to know the company from the inside. For us it is like our second home, for Brazilians it is very important to meet the family of our colleagues.

Brazil is a country where the cost of living is very high, and we don’t often have the opportunity to experience something so great. Telefónica set up an amusement park with many games and attractions. We had a very fun day with colleagues and family members, it was a day of opportunities.

We were also able to get a first-hand look at Telefónica’s latest technology, for example, we got to try out virtual reality glasses, which, due to the socio-economic situation in the country, not many of us had had the pleasure of using.

Also in Sao Paulo it was possible to visit our ‘smart home’. An exhibition where you could experience all the technology that we have in Vivo, in first person.

For the next centenary, we in Brazil have already started to prepare the way. We have chosen a number of people to lead our connections and to ‘humanise’ them. Because in my country it is very important to humanise technology, and to make it accessible to everyone. In my case, I am hearing impaired and thanks to the latest technological advances, I can carry out my work without barriers, just like any other person.
