Carlos Calvo Martínez
Former executive Telefónica Spain
Carlos Calvo spent 34 years at Telefónica, between 1976 and 2010. During that time he held different management positions at Telefónica de España, highlighting the following: director of the Muntanya Territory in Barcelona, forming part of the team of the 1992 Olympic Games, director of Seville and head of Expo'92, director of Andalusia and Extremadura, general director of Large Customers, general director of Large Publics and Professionals, general director of Operations. In 2006, with the integration of the Fixed and Mobile companies in Spain, as well as Terra and Data, he became General Manager of Technology, Operations and Systems, reporting to him four general directorates, with more than 20,000 people.
From November 2010 to May 2016, he was an advisor and director of different companies, many of them in Andalusia, when he went on to reside permanently in Seville. Additionally, between 2011 and 2014 he was Senior External Advisor at Mackinsey & Company internationally.
Throughout his career, he has developed numerous transformation projects, highlighting Telefónica's Optimal Project, which significantly improved the efficiency and production of the organization, as well as transforming its culture.
In 2016, already retired, he decided to start, altruistically, a training project to improve the leadership and communication of the average manager in Andalusia, with almost 200 students already trained, a personal commitment to which he has been dedicating these last years.
