Marc Murtra

Marc Murtra holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He also holds an MBA from the Leonard School of Business at New York University.

Marc Murtra is a trustee of the Caixa d’Estalvis i Pensions de Barcelona ‘la Caixa’ Banking Foundation.

He began his career in the nuclear industry at British Nuclear Fuels Ltd in the UK, and continued his professional career at the strategy consultancy DiamondCluster, where he worked for large technology companies. He has spent several years in the public service, where he was a specialist in Digital Strategy, Digital Transformation and Public-Private Partnerships. In this role he worked as Director General of Red.es, as well as Head of Cabinet of the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Government of Spain.

He has been Managing Partner of Closa Investment Bankers, as well as Director of CREA Inversión, and has extensive knowledge of the technology sector.

He is an associate professor of Financial Management, Financial Economics and Master of Science in Finance and Banking at Pompeu Fabra University, where he teaches students of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, bachelor’s degree in Economics and Master’s degree.
